Special Pupil Achievements:-
I ADDED THIS PAGE IN 2008 TO ENABLE ME TO PUBLICALLY RECORD ANY SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS BY ANY OF MY PUPILS, WHERE THEY MANAGED SOMETHING EXCEPTIONAL FOR THEIR CURRENT LEVEL OF DRIVER TRAINING. IF YOU ARE MENTIONED HERE YOU SHOULD BE ESPECIALLY PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED. WELL DONE TO EACH OF YOU! Mike.
If you are not mentioned here it does not in any way suggest that you are not doing well. Remember that this is for exceptional achievements only.
Be aware that I'm offering a free Pass Plus course (presently worth £300) to my first student who can pass their official driving test in the RDT Mini with NO faults recorded on their driving test report form (DL25C)!!
SINEAD SMITH A very special mention to Sinead for being only my third pupil ever to achieve the perfect score (no driving faults whatsoever) in a mock driving test. Congratulations Sinead!! You're the first of my students in three and a half years to achieve a completely faultless result. It is my belief that you are now the best new driver that I have ever had the privilege to teach (and I have taught many good new drivers since I began). You have a very mature head on young shoulders and tackle the task of safe and confident driving with far more experience than your limited on-road time would ever suggest. You should be very proud of what you have achieved so far with your driving! I wish you much luck for the real thing in the immediate future. Added on 08/09/2011
ABIGAIL CAWTE A special mention to Abi for being an outstanding student right from the start of her training. She quickly and confidently grasped each element of her driver training programme and made good progress throughout. This culminated in her achieving just ONE minor driving fault on her first test (only 3 of my previous students have equalled that result). This was an exceptional result by anyone's standards. Well done for that Abi. A great achievement! I'm proud of you! Continue to drive safely always won't you? Added on 15/07/2011
HELENA MORTON A special mention to Helena for obtaining the highest score ever achieved by any of my pupils in a Hazard Perception test to date. She obtained 69 out of 75 for this element of her joint theory tests, putting her one point above the previous best score that was reached more than two and a half years ago. Well done Helena!! Can anyone beat this new high? I challenge you to do better and get a mention on this page. Added on 21/10/2010
SUSIE YOUNGHUSBAND A special mention to Susie for achieving just ONE major fault and NO minor faults in only her second mock test. This was a huge improvement on her previous (first) mock test in which she produced two major faults and 18 minor faults. The major fault was a one-off which will be very easy to fix with a slower approach speed to roundabouts on fast roads! This result just shows what real determination and a positive approach to learner driving can achieve. Keep it up Susie and you'll be at a consistent test standard in no time! Get working on your Theory and Hazard Perception test preparation soon won't you? Added on 11/06/2010
EMILY LUXTON A special mention to Emily for achieving just ONE minor driving fault in her final pre-test mock test. Emily had been struggling with her consistency as a result of a small selection of similar errors. With those now apparently resolved this result shows that, when it comes to her real test in due course, she should have no difficulty in passing and passing with a good result too! Well done Emily. Let's hope that your self-belief in your own abilities has just sky-rocketed! Added on 04/11/2009
RACHEL ROSE (This is her second special mention and comes only 4 weeks after her previous mention!). A very special mention once again to Rachel for being my first student with no previous driving experience to pass their FIRST mock test since I set up RDT almost two years ago . She accumulated 9 minor driving faults. It should be emphasised that this first test is undertaken as soon as each element of the training programme has been completed in order to identify weaknesses which then form the basis of further tuition. This is not a pre-test mock test which I would expect all my students to pass. Congratulations too Rachel for some positive improvements in your outward confidence. Keep it up as you move towards the real test day, which will inevitably come soon for you. Added on 12/06/2009
RACHEL ROSE A very special mention to Rachel for her exceptionally good progress to date. She has almost completed the syllabus now and has had no difficulty in mastering every aspect that she has been taught and has made rapid progress as a result. She is an incredibly natural and instinctive driver and is on a par with, if not even better than Rosie Purser (see entry for 01/11/2008), who was amazing. She is a very bubbly person, albeit quite shy and limited with her conversation, but she shows bucket loads of enthusiasm and the smile never leaves her face! She too is extremely modest about what she can do. Keep up the great progress Rachel. You're going to make a great driver of the future. All I ask is that you let your inner confidence shine through to the outside world in order that your future examiner can see that you are a positive and confident driver. Added on 16/05/2009
HARRY MOULAND A very special mention to Harry for being my first male pupil ever to achieve just ONE minor driving fault, and on his first driving test too. An exceptional result by anyone's standards, but especially so when his driving test was only two months (to the day) after his 17th birthday!! His focus on getting the details right and his enthusiasm were a real credit to him. Many congratulations Harry!! An outstanding result by anyone's standards. Added on 28/04/2009
ROSIE PURSER A very special mention to Rosie for her outstanding natural driving ability to date. She has only had 7 lessons so far but has made significant progress during that time. She is, without doubt, the most natural and instinctive driver that I have ever taught; even surpassing Theresa Dowling (see entry for 25/02/2008). Once she has been shown how to deal with a new element of her driving programme she understands it promptly and carries it out as though she has been doing it for a long time! She maintains a very calm and controlled mental approach throughout and is extremely modest about what she can do. If only I could bottle what she brings to the process of learning to drive I would be a rich man! Many congratulations Rosie! Keep it up for the rest of the programme. I'm literally lost for further words!! Added on 01/11/2008
SAM HUGGETT A special mention to Sam for his natural driving ability which brought him from complete novice to his first mock test in only 19 single lessons. Although he didn't pass, due to an uncharacteristic fault at a set of traffic lights, he came very close and only received 7 minor driving faults in the process. Added on 01/10/2008 Addendum:- Sam undertook a second mock test on his next lesson and passed with just 4 minor driving faults. Well done Sam! Added on 10/10/2008
THERESA DOWLING A special mention (this is her second special mention!) for obtaining the highest score ever achieved by any of my pupils in a Theory and Hazard Perception test to date. She obtained 50 out of 50 for her Theory Test and 68 out of 75 for her Hazard Perception Test. Well done Theresa!! Can anyone beat that? I challenge you to do better and get a mention on this page. Added on 17/04/2008
LUCY WITHELL A special mention for being only my second pupil ever to achieve the perfect score (no driving faults of any kind) in a mock driving test. Whilst I had expected her to do well I was very surprised that she had done so well as quickly as she did. Congratulations Lucy!! (Prior to that I'd had another pupil with a "clear round" on a mock test [Karen Smail] but that was more than two years earlier). Added on 02/04/2008
ALEX SIBBORN A very special mention to Alex for being my first pupil ever to achieve just ONE minor driving fault in her first driving test. An exceptional result by anyone's standards!! Her attention to detail, self-critical approach, and dogged determination were a real credit to her. Many congratulations Alex!! (Prior to that I'd had another outstanding pupil who achieved just one driving fault [Justine Millard], but it was achieved on her second test). Added on 13/03/2008
THERESA DOWLING A special mention for being, in my opinion, the most natural driver that I have ever had the privilege to teach from scratch. Theresa is currently at an early stage in her driver training programme, but she has mastered the basics incredibly well. If I didn't know her better I would find it hard to believe that she had never driven before! Added on 25/02/2008
